  • 2 c. cake flour
  • 1 c. self-rising flour
  • 6 large eggs, separated
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 c. canned milk
  • 1 c. butter or Crisco
  • 2 1/2 c. sugar

    Beat butter and sugar well.

    Add egg yolks one at a time.

    Beat well after each addition.

    Add flour and milk a little at a time. Beat egg whites and fold into batter.

    Add vanilla.

    Bake at 300° for 1 1/2 hours, then turn to 350° and bake another 30 minutes. Makes a large cake.
