  • 1 lb. butter
  • 1 lb. confectioners sugar
  • 6 eggs
  • 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
  • 3 c. sifted flour

    Have butter and eggs at room temperature.

    Cream butter well. Beat in sugar until light and fluffy.

    Beat in eggs, one at a time.

    Add vanilla and gradually add flour.

    Mix to a silken consistency.

    Pour into well-greased 9 or 10-inch tube pan.

    Bake in 325° oven for one hour or until cake springs back. Cool in pan for 10 minutes.
