- 3 c. sifted Swans Down cake flour
- 5 eggs (room temperature)
- 2 sticks butter (room temperature)
- 1/2 c. Crisco (room temperature)
- 3 c. sugar
- 1 c. milk
- 1 pinch salt
- 1 tsp. vanilla flavoring
- 1 tsp. lemon flavoring
Directions

1Cream butter and Crisco together.

2Add sugar a little at a time and cream together well, then add eggs 1 at a time, beating well after each one.

3Then add flour alternately with milk, beating well each time.

4Add salt and flavorings.

5Put cake in tube pan in a cold oven.

6Turn to 325° for 1 hour and 20 minutes, then cut cake and let it stay in for 20 more minutes, then take out.
