- 3 sticks butter
- 3 scant c. sugar
- 3 c. unsifted plain flour
- 5 large eggs
- 1 c. sweet milk
- 1 tsp. flavoring (coconut)
Directions

1Leave butter and eggs out night before. Put milk out in the morning so it will be room temperature. Cream sugar and butter until creamy. Add 1 egg at a time. Divide milk and pour into three proportions for adding to mixture. Beat well. Add flavoring. Pour into 10-inch tube pan, well-greased and floured. Pour in cake batter and knock down so no bubbles will be in pan. Bake at 300° for approximately 1 hour and 10 minutes. You can tell when the sides come loose from pan.
