- 4 (16 oz.) cans red kidney beans
- 8 oz. Provolone, shredded
- 2 Tbsp. minced onion
- 1/2 c. butter or margarine
- 1/4 to 1/3 c. finely chopped hot pepper
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- corn chips or tortilla chips
Directions

1Drain beans, reserving 2/3 cup liquid; mash.

2In saucepan, combine beans, reserved liquid, butter, cheese, pepper, onion, garlic and 1/2 teaspoon salt.

3Heat and stir until hot. Transfer to chafing dish; place over hot water. Serve with chips.

4Makes 6 cups; can be halved.
