Praline Pound Cake

Ingredients

  • 1 c. butter, softened
  • 1/2 c. shortening
  • 1 (16 oz.) pkg. dark brown sugar
  • 5 eggs
  • 3 c. all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp. soda
  • 3/4 c. milk
  • 2 c. chopped pecans
  • 2 tsp. vanilla extract

Directions

    Cream butter and shortening; gradually add sugar, beating until light and fluffy.

    Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.

    Combine 2 1/2 cups flour, baking powder and soda.

    Add to cream mixture, alternately with milk, beginning and ending with flour mixture.

    Dredge pecans in remaining 1/2 cup flour.

    Stir pecans and vanilla into batter

    Pour into 2 greased and floured 10-inch tube pans.

    Bake at 350° for 1 hour and 15 minutes or until a wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool in pan 15 minutes.
