Ingredients

  • 2 c. sifted flour
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 c. dry powdered milk
  • 1 tsp. ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp. ground allspice
  • 1/4 tsp. ground nutmeg
  • 2/3 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. soft shortening
  • 2 large eggs
  • 3/4 c. prune juice
  • 1 c. drained chopped prunes
  • 1/2 c. chopped nuts

    Sift first 8 ingredients together; set aside.

    Combine sugar, shortening and eggs; add juice and prunes.

    Blend in dry ingredients. Add nuts.

    Let stand for 20 minutes.

    Bake in 2 well-greased small loaf pans in medium oven for 35 minutes or until done.
