- 1 lb. prunes
- 2 c. sugar
- 3/4 c. shortening
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 1 tsp. cloves
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
- 1/2 tsp. allspice
- 2 tsp. soda, leveled
- 2 eggs
- 4 c. flour
- 1 c. walnut
Directions

1Soak prunes overnight in water.

2Save 2 cups of water that they are soaked in.

3Pit and cut up the prunes.

4Cook prunes, liquid, sugar, shortening, spices, and salt for 5 minutes.

5Cool. Add eggs, flour, and soda.

6Bake in 2 greased 5 x 9 inch loaf pans at 350° for 1 hour or until toothpick is clean when testing.
