Ingredients

  • 2 c. sugar
  • 3/4 c. oil
  • 3 eggs
  • 3 c. all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 tsp. cloves
  • 1 tsp. allspice
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 1 c. buttermilk
  • 1 c. nuts
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 c. cooked, chopped and cooled prunes

    Mix first 3 ingredients well.

    Sift together flour, cinnamon, cloves, allspice and soda; add to sugar, oil and eggs along with buttermilk.

    Fold in nuts, vanilla and prunes.

    Cook in one large loaf pan for 1 hour or 3 medium pans for 30 to 40 minutes at 350°.
