  • 1 1/2 c. sugar
  • 2 c. flour
  • 1 c. chopped, cooked prunes
  • 3 eggs, beaten
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/2 c. buttermilk
  • 1 c. oil or melted butter
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 1 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 tsp. salt

Directions

    Combine dry ingredients and sift.

    Stir in oil, eggs, buttermilk and prunes.

    Mix well.

    Bake in an 8 x 13-inch pan at 325° for 15 minutes.

    Cut into squares while still warm and add topping.
