  • 1/2 c. butter
  • 1 1/2 c. sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 c. buttermilk
  • 1 c. cooked mashed prunes
  • 2 1/2 c. flour
  • 2 tsp. grated orange rind
  • 1 tsp. soda

Directions

    Cream butter and sugar; add eggs. Beat thoroughly. Add prunes and mix well. Add soda to buttermilk. Add flour and milk alternately. Bake in a well-greased, floured tube pan at 350° for 45 minutes. While cake is still hot in pan, pour mixture of juice of 2 oranges, 2 teaspoons grated orange rind and 2 cups confectioners sugar over the cake and let stand until cake has absorbed it. This cake stays moist for days.
