- 1 lb. pitted prunes
- 2 c. water (from soaking)
- 2 c. sugar
- 4 c. flour
- 2 tsp. baking soda
- 2 eggs
- 3/4 c. oleo
- 1 tsp. cloves, ground
- 1/2 tsp. nutmeg, ground
- 1 tsp. salt
Directions

1Soak prunes overnight, saving 2 cups water to use later.

2Cut prunes into bits and cook prunes, liquid, sugar and oleo.

3Cool. Sift flour, salt, spices and baking soda.

4Add beaten eggs and sifted dry ingredients to cooled mix.

5Pour into 2 greased 5 x 9-inch loaf pans.

6Bake at 350° , one hour.

7Yields 1 pound size loaf.
