  • 2 cups brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 3 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 12 teaspoon clove
  • 12 teaspoon allspice
  • 12 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 cup chopped nuts
  • 1 12 cups chopped dates
  • 2 cups beer

    Cream butter and brown sugar.

    Mix together dry ingredients, nuts and dates.

    Add to butter mixture alternately with beer; mix well.

    Bake at 375 degrees for about 1 hour in a greased 10-inch tube pan or a 13 x 9-inch pan.
