Ingredients

  • 3 c. sugar
  • 3 1/2 c. enriched all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 2 tsp. nutmeg
  • 2 tsp. allspice
  • 2 tsp. cloves
  • 2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 c. canned pumpkin (No. 303 can)
  • 1 c. oil
  • 1 c. water or half water and half rum, brandy or Triple Sec
  • 1 c. chopped pecans
  • 1 c. raisins

    Combine dry ingredients and set aside.

    Mix last 6 ingredients.

    Combine the 2 mixtures and blend well.

    This may be baked in 4 coffee cans (1-pound size), well greased, in a large Bundt pan or 2 bread pans.

    Bake in a preheated 325° oven until the bread pulls away from the sides of the pan or shows done when tested with a straw.
