Ingredients

  • 3 1/3 c. flour, sifted
  • 2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. nutmeg
  • 3 c. sugar
  • 1 c. pecans or walnuts
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 1/2 c. canned pumpkin (not pie filling)
  • 1 c. oil
  • 2/3 c. water

Directions

    Combine dry ingredients in large bowl.

    Quickly add liquid ingredients.

    Mix until moistened.

    Bake in 2 greased 9 x 5 x 3-inch loaf pans at 350° for 1 hour (or until toothpick comes out clean).

    Cool 5 minutes and remove from pans.

    Tastes better the next day.
