- 1 c. brown sugar
- 1 1/4 c. white sugar
- 1 1/4 c. shortening
- 4 eggs
- 1 16 oz. can pumpkin
- 2 c. plain flour
- 1 Tbsp. salt
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 2 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
- 1 tsp. nutmeg
- 1/2 tsp. allspice
- 1/2 tsp. ginger
- 1/2 c. chopped pecans
Directions

1Combine sugars, shortening and eggs in a large bowl.

2Beat for 2 minutes.

3Add pumpkin and mix well.

4Sift flour, salt, soda and spices.

5Gradually add to pumpkin mixture.

6Beat for 2 minutes on high speed.

7Stir in nuts.

8Pour into a greased and floured 10 inch tube pan.

9Bake at 350° for 60 to 65 minutes.

10Cool for 15 minutes. Remove from pan.

11Top with Butter Rum Sauce.
