- 2 quail per person
- 2 c. cooked wild rice
- salt and pepper
- 8 slices bacon
Directions

1Wipe quail with damp cloth or paper towel.

2Fill cavities with wild rice.

3Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Wrap each quail with a slice of bacon.

4Then wrap each bird securely in heavy-duty aluminum foil.

5Bury wrapped birds in hot charcoal ashes in a campfire, barbecue pit or fireplace.

6Roast about 30 minutes; then check for tenderness.

7Be sure that birds are uniformly covered with hot ashes throughout cooking.
