- 8 (6-inch) flour tortillas
- 1 c. (4 oz.) shredded Cheddar cheese
- 1 c. (4 oz.) shredded Monterey Jack cheese
- 1 medium tomato, chopped
- 1/4 c. chopped green onion
- 1/4 to 1/3 c. chopped green chilies
- dash of salt
- taco sauce
- shortening
Directions

1Heat tortillas, one at a time, in ungreased hot skillet until softened, about 30 seconds.

2(Cover hot tortillas to prevent drying.)

3Sprinkle 2 tablespoons each Cheddar and Monterey Jack cheese over half of each tortilla.

4Sprinkle with tomato, green onion, chilies and salt and top with taco sauce.

5Moisten edge of tortilla with water.

6Fold tortilla over filling.

7Pinch to seal. Secure with wooden picks.

8Heat shortening (1/4-inch) until hot. Fry tortillas until golden brown, about 4 minutes.

9Drain on paper towels.

10Remove wooden toothpicks.
