  • pastry for 9-inch pie
  • 12 slices bacon (about 1/2 lb.), fried crisp and crumbled
  • 1 c. shredded Swiss cheese (about 4 oz.)
  • 1/3 c. minced onion
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 c. whole milk or light cream
  • 3/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. sugar
  • 1/8 tsp. cayenne red pepper

Directions

    Sprinkle bacon, cheese and onion in pastry-lined pie pan. Beat eggs slightly.

    Pour milk mixture into pie pan.

    Bake 15 minutes at 425°.

    Reduce oven to 300° and bake 30 minutes or until knife inserted 1 inch from edge comes out clean.

    Let stand 10 minutes before cutting.
