Quick Buttermilk Rolls

Ingredients
- 1 pkg. dry yeast
- 1/4 c. warm water (not hot)
- 3/4 c. lukewarm buttermilk
- 2 1/2 c. self-rising flour
- 1 tsp. sugar
- 3 Tbsp. soft shortening
Directions

1In mixing bowl, dissolve yeast in water.

2Add milk, half the flour, sugar and shortening.

3Beat with spoon until smooth and batter falls from spoon in sheets.

4Using your hands, mix in enough of the remaining flour until dough cleans the bowl.

5Turn out onto lightly floured board.

6Cover and let rest 10 to 15 minutes.

7Knead until smooth and blistered, about 10 minutes. Shape into crescents or any shape.

8Let rise 1 1/2 hours or until double in bulk.

9Bake at 400° for 15 to 20 minutes.
