- 2 c. plain meal
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. flour
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. soda
- 1 tsp. shortening, melted
Directions

1Put the buttermilk in a bowl.

2Sift in the plain meal, sugar, flour, salt and soda.

3Add melted shortening.

4Pour in hot greased loaf pan.

5Bake at 350° for 45 minutes to 1 hour.
