  • Quick French Tarts
  • 12 thin slices of soft bread, crusts removed
  • Olive oil
  • 2 Tbs butter
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 tsp ground thyme
  • 1 tsp poultry seasoning
  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • 2 onions, very thinly sliced
  • 1/2 tsp lemon juice
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 cups Shredded gruyere cheese
