Quick Rising Yeast Dough

  • 5 1/2 c. unsifted flour
  • 3 pkg. active dry yeast
  • 1 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 3/4 c. milk
  • 3/4 c. water
  • 1/2 c (1 stick) butter or margarine
  • 2 eggs, beaten

Directions

    Mix flour, yeast, salt and sugar together in a bowl and set aside.

    Mix together in a saucepan on medium heat, milk, water and butter until scalding hot.

    Pour hot mixture slowly into dry ingredients, beating with mixer while you pour.

    Halfway through, add eggs mixing well.

    Keep mixing liquid into dry ingredients. As dough forms, you may use hands (lightly floured) to finish mixing.
