- 4 Tbsp. fat
- 1 c. scalded milk
- 1/4 c. lukewarm water
- 1 pkg. dry yeast
- 1 beaten egg
- 3 to 4 c. plain flour
Directions

1In a large bowl put cool liquid (scalded milk, salt, shortening and sugar cooled to lukewarm); add dissolved yeast in 1/4 cup lukewarm water.

2Cool.

3Add to flour to make a batter.

4If dough is not stiff enough to knead, add more flour.

5It may take all four cups of flour.

6Cover; let rise until double in bulk.
