Ingredients
- 1/3 c. lukewarm water
- 1 tsp. sugar
- 1 packet (1/4 oz.) yeast
- 1 beaten egg
- 1 c. lukewarm water
- 1/4 c. sugar
- 2 Tbsp. melted margarine
- 3/4 tsp. salt
- 1 1/2 c. whole wheat flour
- 2 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
Directions

1Stir first three ingredients together in a small bowl.

2Let stand in warm place.

3In a large bowl, beat together egg, 1 cup water, sugar, margarine and salt.

4Stir in yeast mixture.

5Add flour, 1 cup at a time; mix well.

6Mix in last cup of flour by hand.

7Divide the dough and place in two greased loaf pans.

8Cover with damp cloth or Saran and let stand until doubled in bulk (about an hour).

9Heat oven to 350°.

10Bake for 30 minutes.

11Remove from pans immediately.
