  • 2 pkg. fast granular yeast
  • 1 c. lukewarm water
  • 1 tsp. sugar
  • 1 c. milk, scalded
  • 2 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/3 c. sugar
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1/3 c. butter, melted
  • 6 1/2 to 7 c. sifted flour

    Soften yeast in lukewarm water with 1 teaspoon sugar.

    Scald milk; stir in 1/3 cup sugar and salt.

    Cool until lukewarm.

    (Pour milk into mixing bowl and it will cool faster.)

    Put butter in warm milk pan to melt.

    When cool, combine milk mixture and yeast mixture; combine beaten eggs.

    Add about 4 cups of the flour and beat well until smooth.

    Add butter and beat smooth.

    Beat in enough flour to make smooth elastic, but not too stiff, dough. Place in a lightly greased bowl; turn dough over.
