  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 (8 oz.) tomato sauce
  • 1 can water
  • 1 (12 oz.) can whole kernel corn
  • 1/2 c. bell pepper, chopped
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • thin cornbread batter

Directions

    Brown beef and onion. Drain, then simmer with other ingredients and bring back to a boil. Take off heat and make a thin cornbread topping to go over the beef and vegetable mixture in a greased casserole dish. Bake at 350° for 25 to 30 minutes. Makes a meal in itself.
