Raisin Apple Bread

Ingredients

  • 2 c. unbleached flour
  • 2 c. whole wheat flour
  • 2 pkg. active dry yeast
  • 1/2 c. warm water
  • 1 c. milk
  • 3 Tbsp. honey
  • 1 Tbsp. salt
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1/2 c. wheat germ
  • 1 c. raisins
  • 1 c. peeled, chopped apples

Directions

    Combine both flours and set aside.

    Dissolve yeast in warm water.

    Scald milk.

    Add honey and salt to milk and gradually pour into beaten egg.

    Add dissolved yeast.

    Stir in wheat germ, raisins, apples and 3 cups flour.

    Knead in remaining flour.
