- 2 c. warm water
- 2 pkg. active dry yeast
- 6 Tbsp. firmly packed brown sugar
- 1 Tbsp. salt
- 1/4 c. oil
- 6 c. sifted flour
- 2 c. raisins
Directions

1Measure water into bowl.

2Sprinkle in yeast and stir to dissolve.

3Add brown sugar, salt and oil.

4Add 3 cups of the flour, beating until smooth and bubbly.

5Add raisins, mix well.

6Gradually add, while beating, the remaining flour.

7Beat until mixed.

8Place on lightly floured board and knead until smooth and velvety (about 10 minutes).

9Place in greased bowl and brush top with oil.

10Cover, let rise until double, 1 hour.
