- 2 c. raisins
- 1 c. shortening
- 2 c. sugar
- 3 eggs
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 4 c. flour
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. soda
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp. salt
Directions

1Put raisins into saucepan and cover with 2 or 3 cups of water. Cook 5 to 10 minutes.

2Cream together shortening, sugar, eggs and vanilla.

3Sift together 4 cups flour, baking powder, soda, cinnamon and salt.

4In a separate bowl, mix shortening, sugar, egg and vanilla mixture with drained raisins.

5Add 1 cup water raisins were cooked in to mixture alternately with flour mixture, stirring by hand.

6Drop by teaspoonful on greased cookie sheet.

7Bake at 375° until golden brown.
