Ingredients

  • 1 yeast cake
  • 1 c. lukewarm water
  • 2 1/2 c. whole wheat flour
  • 1/2 c. honey
  • 2/3 c. chopped raisins
  • 2 egg yolks, beaten
  • 3/4 c. sunflower seeds, coarsely chopped
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. cloves
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon

Directions

    Dissolve yeast in water.

    Add 1 cup flour and mix until spongy.

    Let rise until light and frothy.
  4. 4
    Add remaining ingredients and blend into spongy mixture.

    This becomes a very firm loaf.

    Spoon into greased loaf pan or bread tin and let rise until nearly doubled.

    Bake at 375° at least 45 minutes.
