  • 1 lb. raisins
  • 2 c. boiling water
  • 2 heaping Tbsp. shortening
  • 2 level tsp. baking soda
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/2 c. sugar
  • 4 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 c. nuts

Directions

    Mix together raisins and boiling water.

    Add and mix with raisins, shortening and baking soda.

    Let stand several hours or all night.

    Beat together eggs and sugar.
  5. 5
    Add to raisins mixture, then beat in flour, salt, cinnamon and nuts.

    Bake in loaf pan at 350° for 1 hour.
