Ingredients

  • 1 c. shortening
  • 1 c. white sugar
  • 1 c. brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 c. all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 2 c. oats
  • 2 c. Rice Krispies
  • 1 c. coconut

Directions

    Beat together shortening and sugars.

    Add eggs and vanilla. Add dry ingredients and mix thoroughly.

    Add cereals and coconut. The dough will be crumbly.

    Form into balls about the size of a walnut or drop by teaspoon onto lightly greased baking sheet. Press down dough lightly.

    Bake at 325° for 8 to 12 minutes or until golden.
