Ingredients

  • 3 c. sugar
  • 3/4 c. white corn syrup
  • 1/2 c. hot water
  • 2 egg whites
  • 1 (3 oz.) pkg. flavored gelatin
  • 1 c. chopped nuts

Directions

    Cook sugar, syrup and water together over moderate heat to hard ball stage or 252° on the candy thermometer.

    Stir often. Beat egg whites until foamy.

    Add dry gelatin.

    Beat until egg whites form peaks.

    Slowly beat in hot mixture; continue beating until a test spoonful will hold shape.

    Add nuts.

    Drop quickly onto waxed paper.
