- 3 Tbsp. cooking oil
- 1 apple, diced fine
- 1/2 c. sugar
- cloves (as needed)
- 1 head cabbage, shredded
- 4 to 5 Tbsp. red wine vinegar
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 onion, peeled and cored
Directions

1Finely chop or shred 1 head of cabbage and put it into a pot holding water to a depth of about 2-inches.

2Core 1 onion and pack it with cloves.

3Place it in the center of the cabbage.

4Add 1 sweet apple, diced fine.

5Cook until tender-crisp.

6Add wine vinegar, sugar and oil.

7Simmer.
