  • 3 Tbsp. cooking oil
  • 1 apple, diced fine
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • cloves (as needed)
  • 1 head cabbage, shredded
  • 4 to 5 Tbsp. red wine vinegar
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 onion, peeled and cored

Directions

    Finely chop or shred 1 head of cabbage and put it into a pot holding water to a depth of about 2-inches.

    Core 1 onion and pack it with cloves.

    Place it in the center of the cabbage.

    Add 1 sweet apple, diced fine.

    Cook until tender-crisp.

    Add wine vinegar, sugar and oil.

    Simmer.
