- 2 lb. red cabbage, finely shredded
- 2 oz. vegetable oil
- 1 large onion, diced
- 2 Tbsp. vinegar
- 1/4 c. water or wine
- 1 large Pippin apple, peeled and diced
- 1 tsp. sugar
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. cornstarch
Directions

1In a 12-inch skillet, saute onion in oil.

2Add cabbage and turn until all cabbage is coated with oil and shiny.

3Add vinegar, water or wine and diced apple.

4Turn down heat; cover and simmer for 5 to 10 minutes.

5Before serving, add spices.

6Mix cornstarch with enough water to dissolve.

7Add to cabbage and mix well. Serves 4.
