- 2 Tbsp. butter or margarine
- 1 medium onion, cut up
- 1 Tbsp. brown sugar
- 2 strips bacon, cooked crisp and crumbled
- 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
- 1/2 tsp. chili powder
- 1/2 c. water
- 1 1/2 c. Minute rice (do not substitute)
Directions

1In a 1-quart saucepan, melt butter.

2Add onion and cook until soft.

3Stir in brown sugar, bacon, tomato sauce, chili powder and water. Add to cooked onion. Cook 5 minutes on simmer setting, covered with lid.

4Stir rice evenly into mixture. Cover and cut off heat.

5Let stand 10 minutes.

6Serve.
