  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 3/4 c. flour
  • 1/2 tsp. soda
  • 1/4 tsp. salt

    Mix butter or margarine with brown sugar.

    Add egg and vanilla.

    Blend in flour, soda and salt.

    Form into a roll 2 1/2 inches across.

    Chill.

    Slice 1/8-inch thick.

    Bake at 400° on ungreased baking sheet 8 to 10 minutes.
