- 1 c. Crisco
- 2 c. brown sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 c. nuts, ground
- 1 c. dates, ground
- 3 1/2 c. flour
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. soda
Directions

1Cream shortening and brown sugar thoroughly; add eggs 1 at a time and beat well after each addition.

2Add nuts and dates.

3Sift dry ingredients together; add to creamed mixture and mix well. Shape in rolls 2 inches in diameter.

4Wrap in waxed paper and store in refrigerator until firm.

5Slice thin and bake 8 minutes at 400°.

6Makes 11 to 12 dozen cookies.
