- 1 c. milk, scalded
- 5 Tbsp. shortening
- 1/4 c. sugar
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 pkg. yeast
- 1/4 c. lukewarm water
- 4 c. flour or may be a little more
- 1 egg
Directions

1Put sugar, salt and shortening in large bowl.

2Pour scalded milk over these ingredients and let stand until warm.

3Dissolve yeast in warm water.

4Add egg to yeast and then to milk mixture. Stir in flour.

5Let rise once.

6Punch dough down and refrigerate until ready to use.

7When ready to use, make in rolls.

8Let rise 2 hours.

9Bake at 425° for 15 minutes.

10Makes about 30 rolls.
