- 2 c. water
- 2 pkg. dry yeast
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 2 tsp. salt
- 6 1/2 to 7 c. flour
- 1/4 c. soft shortening
- 1 egg
Directions

1Dissolve yeast in 1/2 of water, sugar and salt.

2Add half of flour, then add egg, shortening and the rest of the flour.

3Beat until smooth.

4Cover with cloth; let rise.

5Make into rolls and let rise again (2 hours).

6Makes 4 dozen rolls.

7Bake for 12 to 15 minutes in a 400° oven.
