- 1 pkg. active dry yeast
- 1/4 c. warm water
- 1 c. milk, scalded
- 1/4 c. shortening
- 1 tsp. salt
- 3 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
- 1 egg
Directions

1Soften yeast in warm water (110°).

2Combine milk, sugar, shortening and salt.

3Cool to lukewarm.

4Add 1 1/2 cups flour; beat well.

5Beat in yeast and egg.

6Gradually add remaining flour to form soft dough, beating well.

7Place in greased bowl, turning over to greased surface.

8Cover.

9Chill at least 2 hours or up to 4 to 5 days.

10About 2 hours before serving, shape the dough as desired on floured surface.

11Put in greased pan.

12Cover; let rise until double in size.

13Bake at 400° for 12 to 15 minutes.
