  • 2 pkg. active dry or 2 cakes compressed yeast
  • 6 1/2 to 7 c. sifted all-purpose flour
  • 2 c. water
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 c. Wesson oil

Directions

    Soften active dry yeast in warm water (110°) or compressed yeast in lukewarm water (85°).

    Add sugar, salt and about half the flour.

    Beat thoroughly 2 minutes.

    Add egg and oil.

    Gradually beat in remaining flour until smooth.

    Cover with a damp cloth and waxed paper.
