Ingredients
- 1 1/2 c. boiling water
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/4 c. Crisco
- 1 pkg. dry yeast
- 1/2 c. lukewarm water
- 1 egg
- 5 to 6 c. plain flour
Directions

1Pour boiling water over sugar, salt and Crisco; stir until Crisco is melted.

2Cool mixture to lukewarm.

3Dissolve yeast in 1/2 cup lukewarm water; mix with first water.

4Add egg; stir in flour to make soft dough.

5Grease a bowl with cooking oil.

6Place dough in bowl; turn to grease on all sides.

7Cover tightly; store in refrigerator until ready to use.

8Will keep about 1 week.

9When ready to use, punch down.

10Make into rolls.

11Place on a greased baking sheet.

12Brush with melted butter.

13Let rise in a warm place until double in bulk, about 1 hour.

14Bake in a hot oven at 425° for 20 minutes.

15Makes 24 rolls.
