- 3/4 c. shortening
- 2 1/2 tsp. salt
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1/2 c. warm water
- 3/4 c. sugar
- 2 c. hot water
- 2 Tbsp. yeast
- 7 to 8 c. flour
Directions

1Dissolve yeast in the 1/2 cup warm water.

2Set aside.

3In a large bowl, measure sugar, shortening and salt.

4Pour on the hot water and let melt.

5Let cool.

6Add yeast mixture and beaten eggs. Beat in flour, 1 cup at a time, until dough is soft and smooth. Refrigerate overnight.

7When ready to use, shape in butterhorns. Let rise until double.

8Bake 10 to 12 minutes at 350°, a bit longer for cinnamon rolls.
