- 1 cake yeast
- 3 Tbsp. warm water
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. shortening
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 1/2 c. boiling water
- 2 eggs
- 5 c. flour
Directions

1This makes 3 coffee cakes or about 60 rolls.

2Dissolve yeast in warm water.

3Dissolve sugar, shortening and salt in boiling water in small saucepan.

4When cool, pour into large bowl.

5Add yeast, eggs and 2 cups flour.

6Beat with mixer until frothy.

7Add 3 more cups of flour; mix well.

8Cover with Saran Wrap and refrigerate overnight or until needed.

9Will keep 7 to 10 days.
