Ingredients

  • 1 qt. Kosher dills, drained and sliced about 3/4-inch thick or less
  • 2 c. white sugar
  • 1/4 c. brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 1/2 c. white vinegar
  • 1/4 c. cold water
  • 1 tsp. whole pickle spices

Directions

    Boil together all ingredients except pickles for 3 to 5 minutes.

    Add pickles to hot mixture.

    Return to jar and let stand 2 weeks in refrigerator.

    When pickles are gone, drain a can of sliced beets and put into jar.
  5. 5
    This makes very good pickled beets.
