  • 1 1/2 lb. ground beef
  • 1 c. chopped onion
  • 1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 1/2 c. Swiss cheese or Mozzarella, shredded
  • 1/2 c. creamy Russian dressing
  • 1 1/2 c. caraway rye bread crumbs, dried
  • 1 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 1 (4 oz.) sauerkraut, drained

Directions

    Combine beef, onion, Worcestershire, Russian dressing, salt, egg, pepper and Russian dressing.

    Mix well.

    Roll out jelly roll fashion.

    In 1/2 of beef mixture add a layer of cheese and layer of sauerkraut.

    Place the other 1/2 of beef mixture over cheese and kraut.

    Best to roll on foil, then lift the foil to place beef over the filling.

    Bake at 350° for 45 minutes, 1/2 time reduce to 300°. Do not overbake.
