- 1/2 stick margarine
- 1 large onion, chopped 1 1/2 c. long grain rice (not Minute)
- 1 can beef consomme
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 can mushroom soup
- 1 can water
- 1 can water chestnuts, sliced and drained
- 1 can mushrooms, drained
Directions

1Saute onion and rice in margarine until brown.

2Put in 2 1/2-quart casserole dish with other ingredients.

3Combine well. Cover and cook one hour at 350°.

4Makes 6 to 8 servings.
