- 2 c. flour
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/3 c. shortening
- 1/4 c. vinegar
- 3/4 c. milk
- 1 c. crisp rice cereal, crushed
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 1/2 tsp. caraway or poppy seed
Directions

1Preheat oven to 400°.

2Sift dry ingredients together.

3Blend in shortening until it resembles coarse meal. Add vinegar and 1/2 cup milk all at once, stirring only to combine. Turn out on slightly floured board.

4Knead gently 5 or 6 times.

5Divide dough into 16 equal parts. Roll each on board with palm of hand to 6-inch cylinder.

6Brush with remaining milk. Combine cereal, salt and caraway or poppy seed.

7Roll each in cereal.

8Place on sheet and bake 15 minutes.
